Whitebook 2016 - Official launching events in Hanoi & HCMC
The White Book 2016 has two versions in Vietnamese and English, mentioning key issues on FDI, business administration, energy, green growth, human resource development, intellectual property rights, mergers and acquisitions, public and private partnership, transport, and logistics.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang highlighted that the trade and investment ties between Viet Nam and the European Union have made a gigantic leap forward in recent years. Especially, two-way trade increased 10 times over the last five years from US$4 billion in 2011 to US$41 billion in 2015.
According to Mr. Hoang, the two sides supplement each other in terms of investment, trade, commerce, and economic cooperation. The EU-Viet Nam FTA would come into force in 2018 and is expected to open up more opportunities for market access and perfection of the legal system.
Mr. Bruno Angelet, Ambassador, Head of Delegation of the European Union (EU) in Viet Nam underlined that the EVFTA set an important landmark in the economic and trade ties betweenViet Nam and the EU and laid a foundation for the comprehensive partnership.
