The EU’s Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Facility was established in 2007, and is hosted by the European Forest Institute (EFI). The Facility supports the EU, countries in the EU and partner countries in implementing the EU FLEGT Action Plan. Six countries have signed a VPA with the EU and are currently developing the systems needed to control, verify and license legal timber. These countries are known as ‘VPA partner countries' which Vietnam is also a name in the list.
