1. Futsal Vietnam defeated Japan, on the way to World Cup
After normal time had ended 3-3 at Universal Stadium, Kaoru Morioka had put Japan back in front after two minutes of extra-time only for Tran Thai Huy to equalise with two minutes remaining.And after Morioka’s first penalty was ruled not to have crossed the line and with Kazuhiro Nibuya’s shot also saved by Nguyen Dinh Y Hoa, Phung’s penalty made history as Vietnam secured a place in the semi-finals of the AFC Futsal Championship for the first time as well as qualification to their first ever FIFA Futsal World Cup. Unfortunately, Vietnam has been beaten by the strong, skilled Iran and Thailand later and hold the fourth position. It is obviously that we need a lot works to do.

2. Harry Potter ‘s 8th part on stage.
The Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series. This next exciting chapter in the story will explore Harry’s life after that moment for the very first time.Written by Jack Thorne and directed by Olivier and Tony award-winner John Tiffany, the play is a brand new story written in collaboration with J.K. Rowling.The play is in two parts, due to the ‘epic nature of the story’, and will feature a cast of over 30 actors, to be announced later.

3. The extraordinary spring festival in Vietnam
Joining in Lim Festival, singing love duets January 12-14 (Lunar month)
An annual festival in Kinh Bac takes place on January 12-14 in Tien Du, Bac Ninh. The festival starts with a procession at 8a.m with a large number of local people, who dress in colorful costumes. During the festival, many ceremonies and traditional games are held such as martial art, wrestling, chess, swing and cooking. The most striking activity is singing competition. The competition is organized on boats with love duets. The gilded dragon boat sails on some lakes near by fields in Lim village with melodious voices. Female singers are on one side of the boat and children wearing in four-panel traditional dress on the other side. Male singers are sitting or standing in front or back side of the boat. In the 12th evening, a singing competition takes place with the attendance of villages. This is the most interesting activity during the festival.

4. All about Grammy 58th in sentences
The Los Angeles Times summarized the Grammys as follows: "The 58th Grammy Awards saw Taylor Swift take home her second best album honour and Uptown Funk the award for best record. Meghan Trainor took home best new artist and Ed Sheeran won for best song. In the performances, Adele sounded less-than-stellar and Hamilton measured up to the hype, but Kendrick Lamar's fiery set was the show-stealer and overshadowed much of the night."
Singer-rapper Pitbull started the day by winning his first Grammy Award. Lady Gaga appeared to transform on stage into Bowie, her face merging into his thunderbolt logo, against a three-dimensional backdrop of space imagery befitting the Starman.

5. Discovery of gravitational wave signal
Physicists have announced the discovery of gravitational waves, ripples in the fabric of spacetime that were first anticipated by Albert Einstein a century ago.
“We have detected gravitational waves. We did it,” said David Reitze, executive director of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (Ligo), at a press conference in Washington.
What is a gravity wave? Rippling out from a super- massive collision, for example between two black holes, gravity waves could be detected through the stretching and contracting of space and time.

6. Barack Obama, South East Asia leaders eye China and trade at California Summit.
United States President Barack Obama has gathered leaders from South East Asia to strengthen trade ties and form a common stance on the South China Sea, in a summit the White House hopes will solidify US influence in the region.
Mr Obama, who leaves office next year, has championed a foreign policy pivot to Asia during his presidency and is determined to present the US as a Pacific power.
His meeting with leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was aimed at cementing that legacy.
"This reflects my personal commitment, and the national commitment of the United States, to a strong and enduring partnership with your 10 nations," he said at the start of the two-day summit at Sunnylands, a California resort.
7. Useful advices for translation students
* Do not become "a" translator; Try to become "the" translator specialized in a narrow domain. Stick to one or two domain and be expert in those. Choose your domain(s) carefully: it is very hard to focus on stuff that you are not interested in. Understand some niche domains pay better than others. Take this into consideration as well.
* Understand how the business work: translating literature is not the same as translating medical instructions; working as a freelancer is not the same as working as the employee for a translation company. Understand how much risk appetite you and adjust your professional setup to this.
